Great location and the newly renovated apartments are wonderful. If there's any issue then the maintenance staff is prompt and friendly and tends to it either within hours or within a day. The online residents portal makes it easy to make requests. Only negative would be the laundry room. Machines frequently need maintenance and there aren't loads of them, so my advice would be to get there early to do your laundry! Or simply sign up w/ the doorman to have it picked up, done and delivered for you.

Nice apt how ever the laundry room is horrible!! Machines break all the time people steal others clothes from the machines it's dirty there is Mold in the machines they smell!!! The apt is a good size however it's starting to show it age even though it was renovated a few years ago. The people who work here are very nice!! The people that live here can be very nice as well however some of the families let their children run every where even in to the elevator when there is a line waiting to get in. I really enjoy the community rewards concept for Gateway. Battery Park City is a nice, safe area, and it definitely helps to have all the amenities and surrounding conveniences.

We have had a great experience here & the people have been very helpful whenever we had anything to be taken care of in our apartment. The doormen in our building are very friendly and helpful. - 4 stars

I was hesitant about moving into Gateway Apartments due to some of the negative reviews. Over the past year of living here I can see that the building is making an effort to improve certain areas. It seems like they do their best to maintain the building and offering more services to residents like being able to schedule maintenance requests without going through a third party. A very nice place to live. I should know; I've lived here since 1993 - my kids grew up here. There's an active Tenants Association, a great gym, a pool, friendly neighbors and great staff. Every year the campus, community and amenities get better and better. It's not perfect but for the price, I've never found an equal. Since the new WTC and Brookfield Place went up, the neighborhood is more accessible, more fun, great services - 11 movie theaters - and it's gorgeous down here by the water. Nice place to live. Good neighborhood and quiet place. Love the parks around. You don't have access to FiOS though, you're stuck with the worst provider in NYC which is Time Warner Cable.

I have lived at Gateway for 4 years ! I am a real estate broker! I truly have never had an issue with a high electrical bill/charge?? Nor have my clients or friends. I mean it.. I don't get it?? I haven't needed the management co. often.. I guess that says a lot. Battery Park and Financial District are getting very popular as they should!! Being this close or on the water is a gift. HIGHLY RECOMMEND GATEWAY PLAZA After searching for a one-bedroom apartment in upper Manhattan, Brooklyn and on Long Island City, on a friend's recommendation, I discovered Gateway Plaza. The location is idyllic--situated on the Hudson, with beautiful views, parks and outdoor activities, and convenient to all transportation, Tribeca, Soho and Financial District.
