The complex is not run well to the say the least. Management is incompetent. Communication is lacking. Many go-to phone numbers for residents go straight to voice mail or a very long phone menu of some sort that leads to those same voice mail boxes. In the end, once you move into an apartment, Lefrak wants nothing to do with you.... except if rent. I consider Lefrak as more of a rent collection organization more than anything else. In lefrak city I called maintance servise about when will the sprinkler on in the back yard. And then I asked about when will the pool re-open again. She could'nt answer it.Nobody knows answer.

The heating problem was worse than ever this past year, 2020. The law says Landlords must provide adequate heat whenever the temperature drops below 55 degrees. However, in 2020 when the temperature outside dropped to the thirties we had no heat in the Sydney Bldg. There are many senior citizens, like myself, and infants and young children who suffer in this cold environment. Boiler repairs don't seem to work. Otherwise, however, general maintenance is excellent.

I have beb bugs on my apt !!!! ‍I just moved last week. Somebody went to the studio and fumigated but they need to do 2 more times. I can't live there. I have all my things on the floor. I work from home and I couldn't do it because this big problem! I want to change my situation. I want move to other studio or they need to stop the rent until They Fix the problem. I hope you can help me. God bless

This place is horrible. I have lost package that is worth thousands of dollars because people steal everything. The camera and the security system they have is not helpful at all. It's all a show for the new residents to get a place here in Lefrak City. Once you sign your contract, they don't give a shit about you or anybody that lives here. This is all a hoax. Don't get an apartment here. Trust me. I lived here for years and nothing has changed. This place is still the same with high crime rates and horrible security system... read more

The issues with the laundry room continue to be an issue. The constant breaking down of machines and long periods it takes to repair them. Also, the laundry room being "out of service" while employees are washing their clothes is unacceptable.

Facilities are in good condition however the service is not good. Pests are a big problem. Few weeks ago I reported a dead rat outside the elevator, the next day, I went out in the morning and the dead rat was still there. When you try to call the Residential customer care number sends you to VM and managers are almost always unavailable or break or they just "stepped out". Security by the main entrance is nice and welcoming but if you report an issue over the phone they say they will send someone but that's it, never a f... read more

If I could give less stars I would. Honestly, horrible place. Yes at the beginning everything is great but as time goes on, the fridge stopped working took them three days to fix it. Then the heaters barely worked... now that i have moved they are only giving back half of the deposit and are charging us for stuff that we didn't even do! It's insane horrible horrible place to live. There are so many more places and much better quality than what they have to offer.

Killing residents now with Major Capital Improvement cost. We are paying for boilers, compactors, courtyard, renovation of hallways, elevators, laundry rooms. Everything is passed on to tenants on a per room basis. Residents bare the cost of everything now. Never was like that. DCHR and Management have a racket going on. A new MCI increase comes every other week.
