As an update, these are still great apartments with great amenities, but after they completed lobby and landscaping renovations, they raised my rent too much to afford to renew my expired 2-year lease as a single teacher. I should become a real estate investor because I'm a master at finding inexpensive places to live right before prices explode. Maybe then I would have made enough money to keep my wonderful apartment.
Ok This is an updated review from my last review of a few years ago. I have now been living here for 5 years and things have improved overall. The management company has been spending a lot of money to make this place a lot better and hopefully they will continue to attract better tenants by reason of the increased rents, Studio and one bedroom apartments have increased between 30 to 50% in five years but still represent a good value when compared to comparable apartments. The apartments are spacious and many have good view... read more
$1500 for a 1 bedroom deluxe with balcony. Heat included. Electric is 120-175 in the summer if you run the ACs all the time like I do. In the winter and fall about electric is 75-100. 860 square feet. Pretty good deal. It's walking distance from queens center mall and rego park mall. R M and F train not far away, your in midtown in 30 mins. They set up a new payment system so you can pay rent electronically via check/debit card or even Credit card. On 1500 electronic check has no fee, but Debit and credit card is $... read more
I have a love and hate feeling for leaving here. The room is very spacious and there are a lot of closets. Everything looks new. However, there are also a lot of gaps and holes on the walls and everywhere else, which make perfect homes for coaches. The rental is affordable, but if you need to go to Manhattan from time to time it is not very convenient. it takes at least 15 mins to walk to the subway station(maybe for the closest and more expensive building of lefrak city, it wont take that long). Due to "planned work", lo... read more
HEY. I actually like it here. OK, so I must have grown up in a bad place? A normal blue-collar family in the Midwest. We had the same house my whole life and a dog and a yard. So, nope. OK... so I must have lived in really terrible New York places or my parents' basement? Poplar Street in Brooklyn Heights, Williamsburg, 12th and A, and 36th and 10th. So, try again. OK... so I must be one of those unemployed liberal arts kids who can't afford anything else? Three strikes, amigo. You're out. I have been here ... read more
Lived here for 20yrs, Lefrak is a great place to live despite what people say, growing up here taught me alot and how to deal with certain situations, its a community, once you get to know people they always have your back.
This review is of their rental office, application process and concept as an all-rental complex in NYC. There is no broker's fee, and considering the location-- close to EVERYTHING (!) -- the rents on the website are extremely affordable. Their rental agents are professional, confident and knowledgeable. The agent I met was very honest about availability, amenities, safety, and renovation. There is a $100 processing fee for a credit check, however both the receptionist and the agent stated that this amount was non-refundab... read more
I moved to LeFrak back in June and I'm very glad that I ended up there. I was having a horrible time looking for an apartment and honestly this was my last resort. The biggest problem is the parking. The only option for visitors is the garage where you have to pay because street parking is very scarce. I love being so close to different shops and having the supermarket right around the corner. It annoys me that people say LeFrak is so ghetto. I actually live on the Horace Harding side and it is very different from the 57th ... read more
i moved 1 month ago and so far its great!!!, clean, spacious with lots of closet, my apt is on horace harding and is very quiet. Apts on 57th st are a bit noisy to me. close to everything, queens mall, century 21th, post office, supermarkets, subway and buses..... They have a branch of queens library, swimming pool, barbecue area, playground, tennis and basketball courts, laundry room in each building... so far everything better than I thought
