I would be happier with Gateway, but residents have recently been waiting for 10-15 minutes every time they need to use the elevator. Whenever residents complain to management, they respond that it will "eventually" make things better, but there is no timeline for these repairs. Also, after paying my rent for over a year, on time, they recently started charging ridiculous late fees and will not refund the one month's payment in which I was two days late. GATEWAY IS THE SLUM OF BATTERY PARK CITY! I've lived at Gateway for approximately 3 years, and this is definitely my last! Here are the pros: The location is excellent with great schools (which is why I stayed), the people who live here are generally very good and kind, and the doormen are nice. BEWARE! The management of the building complex is extremely poor! Right after I signed the lease starting from July 30th, the leasing office told me there is no elevator availability until August 1st. Basically they said it is too bad we signed the lease for July 30th and there is no way we can move in on that day. Bad experience even before moving in.

The apartment is nice, the doormen are very nice. The management, well...........i think the management needs an enema. They are horrible and not very helpful. I hate when management "thinks" they are above all others. Apartment gets 4 stars, management 1. Too much dog urine smell around. overall 2 stars. There are nicer apartments for the same money.

I don't typically write reviews, but my experience at Gateway was so bad that I'm writing my first Yelp review ever. DON'T live in this place!!! You will regret it later on. The very very terrible management office staff will charge hidden fees in your security deposit!! Customer service is very difficult to reach, and they will also yell at you on the phone if you ask questions. They're extremely rude people. It's the worse experience I've ever had. Could easily be much nicer but is a pain to deal with.Has terrible management that does not care about customer assistance and charges hidden fees. Area is nice but check out other buildings in the area even if they are pricier this is not a great place to settle. Been here for 5 years and looking to move on

I would give it zero stars if I could. I have lived in the city for more than 4 years and lived in a different apartment every year. This was by far the worst place I have ever lived. The management office is the most unorganized and cheap office I have ever seen. I am now wait 4 months for a refund of my electric bill they took out of my security deposit with out my authorization. If you want to hear back from them don't expect them to reach out. Don't rent an apartment in Gateway Plaza, or you will regret it. We discovered the worst face of New York there. Frustration and rage. There is only one thing more terrible than the cold you will suffer in winter: the management. Ms. Coracci and her team make you feel like you don't have any value for them. I don't usually bother writing reviews, good or bad, but I lived at Gateway for 4 years and I felt that I needed to leave a warning. So here goes my first Yelp review: First, the good. There's actually two good things about Gateway Plaza, none of which has anything to do with the complex itself: it's located in the heart of Battery Park City (so location) and the river views are great (again location).
