The apartment is nice, the doormen are very nice. The management, well...........i think the management needs an enema. They are horrible and not very helpful. I hate when management "thinks" they are above all others. Apartment gets 4 stars, management 1. Too much dog urine smell around. overall 2 stars. There are nicer apartments for the same money.

I don't typically write reviews, but my experience at Gateway was so bad that I'm writing my first Yelp review ever. DON'T live in this place!!! You will regret it later on. The very very terrible management office staff will charge hidden fees in your security deposit!! Customer service is very difficult to reach, and they will also yell at you on the phone if you ask questions. They're extremely rude people. It's the worse experience I've ever had. We cleaned the apartment with a professional cleaning service before movi... read more

Could easily be much nicer but is a pain to deal with.Has terrible management that does not care about customer assistance and charges hidden fees. Area is nice but check out other buildings in the area even if they are pricier this is not a great place to settle. Been here for 5 years and looking to move on

I would give it zero stars if I could. I have lived in the city for more than 4 years and lived in a different apartment every year. This was by far the worst place I have ever lived. The management office is the most unorganized and cheap office I have ever seen. I am now wait 4 months for a refund of my electric bill they took out of my security deposit with out my authorization. If you want to hear back from them don't expect them to reach out. During living there I had no water pressure and they told me to wait a week f... read more

Don't rent an apartment in Gateway Plaza, or you will regret it. We discovered the worst face of New York there. Frustration and rage. There is only one thing more terrible than the cold you will suffer in winter: the management. Ms. Coracci and her team make you feel like you don't have any value for them. It seems that they want you to leave as soon as posible. We moved out after one year. Our apartment was big and lumimous, but we found out very quicky it was a freezer, too. When you complain about the poor insulation ... read more

I don't usually bother writing reviews, good or bad, but I lived at Gateway for 4 years and I felt that I needed to leave a warning. So here goes my first Yelp review: First, the good. There's actually two good things about Gateway Plaza, none of which has anything to do with the complex itself: it's located in the heart of Battery Park City (so location) and the river views are great (again location). But that's all the good there is to it, and trust me, if they could mess that up they would. Now for the bad, in no partic... read more

This place deserves zero stars. Do NOT rent here. One bad review may not count, but 400 bad reviews say something about this place. 1. The staff is rude, unhelpful, and will pressure you into anything. First they will lure you in acting nice and helpful. Then, they will not respond to emails or calls about the electric bill, about rent, about repairs in the apartment. 2. They ask that you send your electricity check to a PO Box!!! They don't accept payment for it at the management office. Once it gets checked out, the mana... read more

1) The $3350/month for a 850 sq foot apartment turn into $4000 during the cold and the hot months. The electric heaters/AC units will cost you beyond any of your reasonable expectations. Be prepared for that. My avg electric bill during the cold months was between $500 and $600. ANd I can't turn it off completely while I'm not at home because I have a pet who will freeze to death if I do. I called the management office to find out an "average" bill for an apartment of my size and was completely misled by the answer (no way w... read more

This building is not for people. It's a kennel. Dogs sh-t and piss everywhere. All washing machine smell like mildew. I lived here longer than I care to admit. Leaving Gateway feels like getting out of jail. Management is not flexible.
