LeFrak is the WORST APARTMENT to live in, it is infested with rats, mice, cockroaches and without forgetting the constant dog urine everywhere. Although the management is TRYING so hard to clean up the apartment it is full of uncivilized people who are living there. The elevator always smells dog urine and the hallway has trash everywhere. The inside of the apartment can be in a good condition but all the cupboards are SUPER cheap quality. There are still so many gangsters living there, and the teenagers are always vandaliz... read more

**constant urine smell in the stairs and outside areas of Paris building** I strongly recommend you do not rent here unless you absolutely have to. Terribly managed apartments. I am counting down the days until our lease is up. Since we have moved in we have had ongoing problems with the hot water, garbage, and now the A/C unit. Not to mention constant "improvements" to the building, which is just an excuse to charge you more. We actually had to open a case with the city TWICE because LeFrak did not provide adequate hot wa... read more

Worst place for the amount of rent you pay. This past winter there was 2 seperate occasions were there was no heat. It wasn't until I called 311 and they sent someone out that the heat was finally turned on. And now as I type there is no hot water. I've been waiting over an hour and have to be up by 5am. Don't move here unless you want to pay luxury type rental price while living in a projects style and run building. If I could choose zero stars I would. One is being to generous. Looking to move out as soon as the lease is u... read more

The apartments look nice don't get me wrong they look for rennovated when you move in. But every year they raise your rent a ridiculous amount around $150 for living in the ghetto. They're like cars you pay for it in full price over the internet they look nice but over time begin to have lots of problems. The paint was starting to chip in the bathtub and walls and we experienced water leaks which they just patched up twice before the initially fixed the leak after making us wait for months. In two years there have been two ... read more

We lived on the Horace Harding side of Lefrak for two years. Initially, we were really excited, because at $1450 for a 1BR deluxe (that's with a balcony and a den) in a fabulous area only 20mins to midtown, who could complain? The building was undergoing renovations so it was only going to get better, right? Months after moving in, problems began, the biggest one being the bathroom tub (it would pump out dirty water from the pipes connected to our neighbors' kitchen). It would happen every so often & maintenance would take ... read more

We recently moved out of here after living for only a year. This place is the next big gentrified project. They're kicking out as many ghetto and section 8 people they can to raise the rents and move in the yuppys. What we were sold on is that the area had improved but the first month there the porter's son got murdered in the Panama basement. So it's not safe and the late night security guards are not very attentive. They did upgrade their security before we left so it may be a bit better now. What they do have is big beaut... read more

I'll try to limit the length of my review. We lived in the Canada building on 57th Avenue and I can definitely attest there is TOO MUCH going on throughout the avenue!!! We happened to view the apartment during the winter so we were under the impression it was a "quiet" neighborhood. When we moved in there was a police tower on the corner of 97th street and 57th avenue. Apparently someone was killed a week prior. Drug related? More than likely. During the 12 months we've been here I have witnessed numerous incidents (i.e. po... read more

We lived in Lefrak City for 10 months although I signed the lease for a year, and it is the worst place to live. I had no choice but to stay there as i have two big dogs and couldn't find any other apartments. Stairs smells like pee, specially in Sydney building and there is garbage everywhere. Apartment is full of cockroaches and will always have to encounter people who ring the bell on purpose just to ask donation. If you own a car then you will not find a parking on the street and if you want to park inside the building t... read more
