This has to be the worst place to live. Their motto is "live a little better" and I say "live a little better than homeless". This place is invested with bugs!, So much so that when I moved I had to trash all my furniture because in the cracks where eggs upon eggs that I had never even know was there. I filled numerous work order about repairs, and roaches I saw crawling everywhere. NEVER did I know they were imbedded in my furniture! Spacious apartments. Someone got shot in the head at the elevator right before I moved out and in the process of getting out the super and maintenence guys went into my apartment and took the materials I used to fix my apartment that I purchased myself. You can barely reach them if you have a complaint and the 57th ave side is a place to stay far far away from. Worst moving decision I ever made going into this building. I just moved out February 25th, 2013 and here is a run of this middle class project. I repeat do not move into this section 8 project. I moved out after only 1 year! Pros' - 99th Street Melbourne building scenery. (The Met's and Corona Park) Spacious rooms. New Charter School CAO opend this past September, 2012. Apartments- Are expensive consider no carpet in the bedrooms, no updated amenities and no hardwood floors. Deposit takes approx. 6-8 weeks to process. My experience at LeFrak The lease center is very nice, agent's were nice and helpful My agent takes me to view building, I ask her if things have improved since the glory days of the 80's when the name sakes of rappers " Noreaga" ,"Akinyele" and" Kool G Rap" lived in LeFrak, she quickly changed the subject. We entered the building in through a side door , where anyone could buzz their way into your building if they waited long enough, (Very Concerned), in fact three people came in with us . Rent is High $1400 for 1 bedroom and you share your APT with ROACHES!! Super doesn't respond to calls promptly as they want their rent. Dirty place and they are renovating the outside instead of the inside which are falling apart. I can't wait for another year for my baby to start Pre-k so i can move out because babysitting is great because you can pick who you want. And you pay for everything (repairs) they do in the building. Windows, roof, you name it. You get charged ($25)for Carbon monoxide detectors installed.

the reality is that the place long ago evolved into a privately owned public housing project. if you are willing to trade cheap rent for quality of life and can deal with all the warts of the place go for it.

This apartment's management is like gang. They shut down garbage room so garbage left on the hallway. Do not even think to move this place. They just make pretty outside and inside is dump field.

I live there. 1 bedroom with parking outside and i pay almost $1500 meanwhile when something breaks they dont want to fix it. Its the hood but right now i cant afford anything else and its closer to my job with 2 small children. They have the WORST BILLING DEPARTMENT. They are just useless to say the least. Takes them forever to process payments and they always send notices on your door. Inside The building is falling apart but they are making the outside new.....GREAT!!!!!

They have the worst billing department I've ever seen. I had horrible experience with them. Firstly, they messed up my monthly invoice and kept sending me notice that I own their $1000+ rent fee. The fact is they recorded my payment on someone else and thought I never paid my rent. It took me 3 month kept calling almost every week to clarify that, and still it doesn't help at all. Finally, I have to mail my bank paycheck proof to them showing that I've paid down for each month. Secondly, they never pay the deposit back as... read more
