Verified Renter It is not great living here. Everything is covered in sticky white paint. It was dirty when we moved in, most of the things here look to be falling apart. Whether it be damage to appliances or questionable structural integrity I would run for the hills.

Verified Renter The parking lot is horrible, multiple pot holes. The office staff micromanage the amenities to the point where you can’t enjoy them. They also resort to “anonymously” calling the police.

Verified Renter Capital has been great to live at most of the time. I’ve been living here for about 4 years, and the administration and maintenance was amazing for the first three or so years. The last year, I must say, it has gone down. The area outside my apartment hasn’t been getting cleaned regularly, as well as the laundry room. They used to keep everything impeccable, but I’m not sure what has happened lately that our common areas have not been looking great. It would help if the administration would take do some round... read more

Do not rent here. Cash grabbing! Do not waste your money, there is nothing about that place that is worth that much. I’d expect this kind of treatment if the rent was $500. They cash grab at every point, management are some of the hardest people to reach, they are charging way too much for a place that doesn’t have lights in the bedrooms. To move in and out I was using flashlights. After moving out, they are going back on the lease and trying to say the pet fee that is labeled in the addendum as an “additional security depos... read more

Terrible. Don't rent here Short list: Rent doesn't match value, dog poop everywhere, management doesn't care about you 1 bit, trash is rough to get to, parking is scarce, neighbors are loud as all getup in building 13, no access to amenities despite lifted covid restrictions, atrocious renter service, and overall a very poor experience to live here. I'd suggest you look elsewhere, because there's so much better available for the same price or cheaper.

Business response:

Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review about your experience at the Capital at St. Charles. We are disheartened to hear that many elements of your stay were disappointing to say the least. We take all complaints very seriously, we non-renew leases of those residents that do not follow the rules of our community. We want everyone to enjoy their peace and quiet. We would like to take the opportunity to speak with you further to discuss your visit in depth. We look forward to hearing from you.

Decent for the price We have rented here for 6 months so far and within this time we have had various issues regarding billing come up. The management office randomly adds charges to our account and it is a headache to get them removed. They are also not great at communicating during the application and move in process. As for the property, you can tell the age of the buildings and they have done a mediocre job at updating the units. Because of the age of the buildings the insulation is terrible, it seems like our AC/Heat is... read more

Save yourself the trouble Litterally the worst place you can possibly think of living. Have had nothing but issues since I’ve moved in, they talk to tenants like crap, have had plumbing issues, issues with nasty old smells, the keys to the doors barely work. Every time you call the leasing office it’s your wrong there right. They have an online pay option through a app they use. Wasn’t working or accepting a debit card. Called them next morning wouldn’t wave the late fee. Not that the $50 matters but they destroyed the whole... read more

Parking Issues According to Capital they have opening parking which means a tenant has a right to park anywhere on the property. Therefore you may have to park several buildings away due to the lot in front of your complex being full. I have experienced this on a few occasions.

Business response:

Hello, We apologize if you have had any issues with the parking in our community. We do not have assigned parking spaces so it is a first come first serve situation. We are under a complete renovation and part of our renovation will be repaving and re-striping the parking lots. This should help with some of the issues as the parking spots will be more clearly marked and in some cases allow for more parking spots. Should you need help with a specific situation, please contact us in the office at (636) 946-6128

Not Worth It I just moved out after living at Sandalwood Creek for several years. They are under new management as of summer 2017, but it hasn't made a difference. We went through something like 4 management companies and half a dozen changes in office staff in the years we lived there. The current management doesn't care about residents, and is not renewing leases in order to renovate and jack up the rent prices. The blue doors might seem appealing from a distance, but they are the ugliest shade of blue I've ever seen. Firs... read more

Business response:

Anyone moving in would be able to view the apartment before moving in, so they would be able to see the size of the rooms, kitchens and baths prior to moving in. I cannot speak about all the management teams prior to us but we came in April of 2017 and the team that is currently on site has been here since August. We started the renovation to update the exteriors and interiors as soon as we took over. Part of the renovation will be repaving and restriping the parking lots that will allow for appropriate parking spots. We are... read more
