Exceptional Service at Aquablu - Thank You Mauricio, Ramon & Paul! I used to visit my sister at Aquablu on the 31st floor, and every experience there was outstanding. Aquablu is one of the nicest buildings in the Newport community that offers spacious apartments with great New York City views! Doormen are very friendly and helpful - Ramon and Mauricio are phenomenal! The only con is that the building charges a mandatory amenities fee but the gym is tiny and often packed which is not very viable due to the Covid situation. Lived in this building for 10 years and just moved out at the end of August. I'm thankful for a safe and pleasant stay. Whether it was the Hurricane Sandy back in 2012 or the recent pandemic year, the building staff did their best to make their residents feel safe through open communications and attention to details. There've been changes in staff members over the years, but I honestly can't recall one single encounter that was unpleasant, which is quite amazing. They are all professional and courteous. This is a really great building. As for the review saying there was a rude doorman?! They literally couldn't be nicer. I'm pregnant and they never let me carry anything and have brought up packages for me more than once. And the water quality review.... any time you're in an apartment that hasn't been used in awhile, you need to run the water. Honestly, we love this building and couldn't be happier with how it's run. AquaBlu is one of the newer apartment communities in jersey city. It is located in Newport - and I am lucky enough to have lived there! The doormen in this building are fantastic - very helpful and friendly. Additionally, the area itself is safe, nice, and well-kept. The maintenance staff are prompt and courteous - always willing to help with heavy boxes too which is a nice touch. There is a concierge person called Paul, and he yelled at me for no reason just because I had two friends coming up around 8:30 PM to check on furniture and threatened to call the security on me. I did not get a chance to say anything before he yelled at me and said he did not want to have any conversation with me. It is nice I am moving out and I would not recommend anyone to live here just because of this incident. Pros: Good doormen. Responsible package acceptances and storage. They make an effort to clean the hallways and trash area regularly. Maintenance requests done in a timely manner. Spacious Great views and location by river. They have a small resident lounge upstairs and a small gym downstairs. Elevators are usually available in a timely manner. Good accessibility to PATH. Due to leasing agent miscalculating our net rent, we are now 9 months into our lease and being told they will not uphold our agreement and making us pay gross rent. They are not taking the blame for this mishap and penalizing us, threatening us with rent late fees. DO NOT live here-- the property management staff is horrible and will not accept their own mistakes.
