Following up on my April 29 review (below), here's a little update. Newport calls itself "pet friendly" yet tries to block off every inch of natural space from pets. Pets are restricted to a tiny dog run with fake grass out front. For over a week now, Newport has closed off the dog park due to "maintenance." YET, at the same time, they built up ghetto-looking deer fences all around the little remaining accessible natural spaces on the pier. I enjoy the location and building but management can be a bit overbearing. A friend and relatively long-time tenant just moved out of an expensive 3-bedroom unit to buy a house, in part because of this concern with management. Management should worry more about upkeep and try not to annoy tenants.
