There is no emergency generator. When the power goes out, the electrically powered outside doors won't open. Any resident outside has to wait for someone to come out before he/she can get back inside. The elevator won't work, so upstairs residents in wheelchairs are trapped upstairs. We can't keep a maintenance person, because they're overworked and underpaid. Anyone thinking of moving in here should SERIOUSLY reconsider it.
My mom moved into Dunbar Commons 4years ago. The first 3 years were nice, but this past year has been horrible for my mom. This is a smoke free property but the west wing where my mom stays reeks of smoke every day. They use to mop the Halls everyday and it use to smell fresh and clean now the west wing always smells like urine. It's suppose to be a secure building put the smokers and crackhead keep a rock in the door and any one can get in, which makes my mom feel very unsafe. Please please please get this place back in ord... read more
It's more like catering to assist living people. For a 62 and older it should advertise for people who need daily assist. Hallways floors are filthy. Residents complaining about water coming up from the floors. My toilet stool leaks and that is causing a urine smell in my bathroom. Cant wait until my lease is up out the door i go. No cameras which allows the residents to leave the doors crack and whom ever can enter into the building. Think twice before you sign a lease not unless you are used to the ghetto life.
I signed a lease for 62 and older. Every since i've been here there's been a lot of young people as if they live here. Maintenance is very bad. The halls ways aren't clean on daily basics. Windows never cleaned .Doors ajar letting in who knows. Just afraid if these things arent taken care it will become another project.
Very enjoyable experience.
